Howdy there! So the general rulings for firearm replicas, air soft, paintball, nerf, etc are usually handled on an item by item basis and any item falling in this category requires a physical inspection by a security team supervisor or higher to approve for on site display/prop safety.
In regards to the airsoft AK pictured, items must have no functioning internals, be affixed with a non-removable blaze orange tip, the magazine must be permanently affixed to the item (hot glued, epoxy or drilled and pinned in place), and barrel plugged to prevent firing of any object or projectile.
As long as the item is approved by one of the acting supervisors of security or higher, and not brandished or displayed in a threatening manner, these generally are allowed inside of the convention space only, and must be stowed and stored accordingly before leaving the event space.
As Connecticut has laws specifically barring the possession of replica firearms that can be perceived or misconstrued as real firearms, it is important to follow all safety rules regarding the ownership of said items and ensure they are properly stowed and marked per federal and state laws.
